Chinese export to Europe increased significantly again

Chinese exports to Europe increased significantly in June, with a rise of nearly 8% compared to the same month last year.

A key factor behind this development is the changing geopolitical landscape. Due to persistent trade tensions between China and the United States, China’s export focus is shifting increasingly toward Europe. Goods that are no longer competitive in the American market due to import tariffs are being redirected to Europe in larger volumes. This mainly applies to products such as electric vehicles, household appliances, and green technologies, some of which are produced by Chinese companies with subsidies.

Improved trade conditions, combined with more efficient logistical networks, are also accelerating the flow of goods. This has led to an increase in container traffic to major ports such as Rotterdam, Antwerp, and Hamburg, where congestion remains an issue. However, the expectation is that export growth to Europe will slow after the summer as the effect of accelerated exports diminishes.

This development offers opportunities for companies active in international trade. At the same time, it requires a strategic approach to logistics between China and Europe. Reliable partners with a local presence in China are essential for fast and efficient operations - and are becoming increasingly important.
